From pockets of oil continuously resurfacing to struggles with repairing vessels, health concerns, and loss of business, these are just some of the many challenges faced by the residents of Lambeau since February 7th. On that day, the Gulfstream overturned and shipwrecked on a reef near Cove, leaking oil into the area. 🌊⚓️
While the government has successfully decanted the oil from the ship and is currently working on salvaging the wreckage, the residents of Lambeau say their problems are far from over. 🛢️ Residents voiced their concerns at Monday’s consultation on compensation, sharing the ongoing hardships they continue to endure. 💬
